An overview of Precision Farming

Precision farming has the largest impact on areas of land which have a high degree of variability, which we can assess this variability using satellite imagery. This gives us the ability to predict how much applying a more conventional “one-size-fits-all” approach to your farming will hurt your return on investment.

These days, there are many different degrees of Precision Farming. The most extreme versions of this even requiring the installation of a reference GPS station in order to get measurements precise within a single centimeter. At CleverFarm, we prefer a more approachable system that allows farms of any size to embrace the principles of Precision Farming. The variable maps that we create can be read by standard farming equipment using the ISOBUS interface. Our sales team can let you know if your machinery already has this technology built in, or if not, what kind of investment it will require – along with a calculation of the return on that investment.

The cost of the service depends entirely on the size of the project and the amount of data.
